Equipments for Cleaning

Tools of the Trade

HI-TECH Hood Masters utilizes state of the art equipment and top of the line degreasers to conduct a deep and thorough clean to the entire exhaust system from the kitchen level to the roof top.

Our Equipment consists of 3500 PSI, we use a 200° of boiling hot water pressure washer with an 18 horsepower engine and output of 5.5 gallons of water per minute. We use various size pressure guns and nozzles to get into every crevice for a thorough clean. Some of our competitors use pressure washers purchased at a local home improvement store.Their equipment ranges between 1550 PSI to 1900 PSI and can only connect to a hot water source located in the facility, which the temperature is typically less than 120° degrees of water per minute. In order to get a thorough clean and break down of all accumulated grease in the hoods, ducts, fans and filters, the cleaning requires a high degree of pressure, boiling hot water, and degreasers. Hood cleaning is a serious matter and should be left to the professionals.

Drain Jetting

Your drains are likely filled with a variety of debris, including food, grease, and dirt. This mixture is sure to clog your drains over time and invite unwanted drain flies, which are a real nusiance. At Hi-Tech Hood Masters, we offer drain jetting solutions to free up the grease and grime trapped in your drains. Steer clear of common household products that will only mask the odor without taking care of the problem. Our tools are sure to blast away that drain-clogging debris and bacteria.

Grease Containment Systems

Grease containment systems are vital to protect your roof from an overflow of grease, which will eat away at the membrane of your roof, causing extensive damage. HI-TECH will install a containment system and maintenance it with each visit.

According to the NFPA 96 FIre Codes, the ability to drain grease out of any traps or low points formed in the fan or duct near the termination of the system into a collection container that is noncombustible, closed rainproof, and structurally sound for the service to which it is applied and that will not sustain combustion.

Hinge Kit Installation

Upon inspection of your hood by HI-TECH, we will ensure that your fans have operable hinges, which allow the fans to open and close safely. When performing service, the hinges protect our technicians from injury and the fire marshall when performing inspections of your hoods. It is a NFPA 96 fire code violation to not have and properly maintain these hinges as to prevent your establishment from receiving a fine.

According to the NFPA 96 FIre Codes, exhaust fans must have a hinge with a "hold open" retainer installed on them. You must be in compliance before HI-TECH is able to perform hood cleaning services.

HI-TECH will also install necessary hinges on the same visit prior to cleaning your hoods.

Installation of Duct Access Panels

It is not unusual to find exhaust systems that were installed without the proper number of access panels, which are necessary to perform a proper cleaning. When the duct makes a 90 degree bend, an access panel must be added to prevent a grease accumulation and fire.

According to the NFPA Fire Codes for Duct and Access Panels, states that grease duct access doors are required to be installed on every 12' of grease duct.

Our technicians are able to install additional panels at time of service depending on the number of panels needed.

Installation of Exhaust Fan Access Panel/Clean-Out Port

The installation of this type of access panel enables a proper clean to the other side of the fan blade, which is unreachable without installing a clean-out port. This port will prevent the accumulation of grease in this area and in turn prevent the blades from becoming unbalanced causing damage to the fan's housing.

Our technicians at HI-TECH can schedule to install your clean-out port per fan. This service must be performed in the daytime due to its location.
